Affirmations for the perfectionist…

    Here are a few daily affirmations for the girl trying to be the perfect student… the perfect daughter… the perfect employee… the perfect mother… the perfect friend…

    You may run through the whole list, pick and choose, or just stick with one that resonates with you…

    The important thing is – be consistent. Write down or say your affirmations daily (bonus points for multiple times a day!) to rewire your brain to think positively and ditch the negative junk we so often feed on.

    Here we go! Grab your journal or smile pretty in front of the mirror…

    1. I will find peace, rather than insecurity, in my lack of knowledge and ability.
    2. I release the need for everything to be perfect.
    3. I acknowledge my fear of imperfection, but I do not give it power over me.
    4. I am letting go of unrealistic expectations – of myself and others.
    5. I will practice self-compassion, rather than self-comparison.
    6. I will not wait for things to be perfect to be happy.
    7. My worth is not dependent on my ability to be perfect.
    8. I release my fear of failure.
    9. I release my fear of inadequacy.
    10. I will embrace my mistakes & learn from them.
    11. I accept my imperfections as areas of growth.
    12. I give myself permission to make mistakes.
    13. I give those around me permission to make mistakes.
    14. My desire to be perfect will not slow me down.
    15. I will offer grace in all circumstances, to all people.

    & here are a few tips & tricks and reminders for practicing affirmations…

    • be consistent!
      • practice your affirmations daily to start rewiring your brain to think more positively.
    • customize your affirmations to best suit you – be specific.
    • mix it up!
      • write them down, say them out loud, rotate what you say, etc.
    • be patient! good things take time!
